Governor Peter Mbah has approved the relocation of Agu-Owa and Ugbo-Lawrence slums in the Enugu metropolis in line with its urban renewal agenda.
The Enugu commissioner for works and infrastructure, Gerald Otiji, made the plea on Tuesday.
Mr Onyia said the objective of restructuring the teams was to ensure that all goals and objectives the projects set to achieve at the inception are attained.
The Enugu government has inaugurated an inter-ministerial committee for property and land reconciliation and compensation.
Mr Aka said 200 soldiers would be deployed to Isi-Uzo to protect lives and property.
“This, however, is no longer feasible because of expert and technical advice.”
The government said a new date for the exercise would be made public as soon as possible.
“These projects will come in sequence and we are ready. We urge the people of Enugu State to exercise a little more patience,” he appealed.
The governor charged them to get down to work immediately as the administration was in a hurry to deliver on its campaign promises.
Mr Mbah said the new commissioners were products of a painstaking search for quality hands to help his administration to deliver on its manifesto.
