On April 8, the EFCC arraigned Mr Emefiele for abuse of office, accepting gratifications, corrupt demand, and receiving property fraudulently obtained.
The anti-graft agency accused Mr Emefiele of unlawfully approving the withdrawal of N124.8 billion from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation.

On Friday, the Ikeja Special Offences Court admitted former CBN governor Godwin Emefiele to bail of N50 million.
His co-defendant, Henry Isioma-Omoile, was remanded in Ikoyi prison custody, where he is currently held pending the determination of their bail application on April 11.
The charge sheet, marked ID/23787c/2024, was dated April 3 and was filed by Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN).

EFCC previously charged Mr Emefiele with six counts and first arraigned him on November 28, 2023, before filing the amended charges.
