Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar was speaking at an Eid-el-Fitr lunch organised for 171 Orphans from Borno, Yobe and Sokoto states.
On Wednesday, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State accepted the resignation of his deputy, Manir Dan’iya and 12 other top functionaries.
The governor said he welcomed the strictest scrutiny from any Nigerian or group interested in the affairs of Sokoto state.
“Police and other security personnel are inadequate, so we shall not wait for those barbaric bandits to maim and kill people at random.”
Yusuf Umar-Kyautawa, chairman of the National Association of Commercial Motorcycles and Tricycle Riders in Sokoto, has pledged to remit N252 million.
The aide is charged with criminal conspiracy, criminal use of force, assault and causing grievous bodily hurt.
“We are doing our best to support the judiciary. This is because we believe in its independence and ability to give hope to the common man,” he said.
A senator criticised the negotiations as counterproductive.
The state has suffered much flooding this year.
