The event brought together representatives from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti.
“State police have been top of mind for President Tinubu since 1999, when he governed Lagos. We are happy to witness its emergence in Nigeria today,” Mr Sanwo-Olu said.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu disclosed this on Tuesday at the Women in Technology and Engineering Summit and Awards (WITESA 5.0) in Lagos.
Lagos has joined the global Under2 Coalition after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu signed a memorandum of understanding with the climate group.
“The rescued victims comprised 207 adult males, 137 adult females and nine male children,” he said.
He described the victory as a reward for good governance and effective service delivery.
“The sanitation exercise is useful, but the waste management system must expand to keep pace with the population,” she said.
Mr Sanwo-Olu said that corps members had a critical role in sustaining Nigeria’s democratic values.
He said deneficiaries included indigent residents, students, elderly citizens, persons living with disabilities, small business owners and vulnerable households.
He said the ministry strengthened monitoring, enforcement and compliance operations to ensure stricter adherence to environmental laws.
