“Let us allow the judges to do their work. Let us strive to make our judges comfortable and truly independent. Don’t allow the politicians to destroy you,” the governor said.
The Ebonyi government has commenced the demolition of ‘illegal’ structures and slums in Abakaliki.
He said the situation had become worrisome, blaming churches for supporting the rising number of illegal schools.
“We want to promote education to enable us to live harmoniously.’’
Mr Nwifuru, who hails from Ebonyi North Senatorial District, said he was not entertaining any fear over the election’s eventual outcome.
Mr Odefa is the elder brother of the current PDP national vice-chairman, South-East zone, Ali Odefa.
“We won’t hesitate if the Catholic Church or other missions are ready to take back their schools that were taken over by government.”
Governor Francis Nwifuru, in a message, said IFAD had been instrumental to the progress recorded by the government in assisting farmers.
According to the governor, the situation has caused salaries and pensions to increase simultaneously, saying that this is unacceptable to the government.
