The governor, accompanied by the security chiefs in the state, expressed sadness over the dastardly act.
Ms Amadi lauded Mr Uzodimma’s interventions in human capital development, such as the Skill-Up-Imo project, a training programme mainly for youth.
He said reelecting Mr Uzodimma would enable him to consolidate the good work he was known for.
“This has shown that the federal government is not insensitive to the sufferings of the people and the hardship occasioned by the policy of fuel subsidy removal.”
“The current hardship occasioned by the price increase on both food, petroleum products and cost of living is being addressed.”
Mr Uzodimma made the announcement during a special meeting with critical Imo stakeholders, on Saturday in Owerri.
Mr Uzodimma called on stakeholders in the electioneering process to work towards a peaceful poll to enable votes to count.
The leaders said steps taken so far by stakeholders in the region had yet to yield the desired results, thus the need for presidential intervention.
Mr Uzodimma urged the pilgrims to use the opportunity to thank God for overcoming the state’s security challenges in the last two years.
