A presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, who confirmed Mr Akeredolu’s death, said the governor died in Germany, where he was hospitalised.
Mr Oladiji also assured residents of the state that their interest would be of paramount consideration in the course of the budget passage.
Mr Akeredolu had, in July, similarly written to the legislative to request medical leave and returned to the country on September 7.
The governor’s family members, including his son, appeared unable or unwilling to compel his resignation, which may further protract the state’s political crisis.
The activist asked the residents of the state to troop out for a town hall meeting scheduled for the weekend in the state capital.
Mr Clerk’s letter to Mr Tinubu is coming barely a few weeks after the President met with political actors in Ondo to resolve the political crisis in the state.

Mr Akeredolu has yet to return to Ondo more than three months after his return from an overseas medical trip.
The PDP urged the ailing Ondo governor to “have a sense of history” and hand over power to his deputy.
