Jigawa, Adamawa, and Plateau governors have received the Digital Governors of the Year award for North-East, North-West, and North-Central.
The governor described the new ministry as “quite an important ministry”.
He said the gesture was to complement state government efforts in youth employment, job creation and poverty alleviation.
Mr Namadi said his administration was currently constructing drains in 32 different locations across the state to reclaim eroded and flooded areas.
He further pointed out that planting and nurturing trees is one of the best options for sustaining the environment.
The DG said that Jigawa State was among the 11 frontline states of the agency’s operation due to its strategic importance.

Mr Jahun said the governor pardoned the inmates after the Advisory Council recommended them for Prerogative of Mercy.
The director-general of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Ahmed Labbo, announced this in a statement on Thursday.
Mr Shitu, who lauded Governor Umar Namadi for his support, said the prompt payment of pension and gratuity helped to enliven the hearts of the beneficiaries.
