Mr Dahiru said that the patient was a 25-year-old man who allegedly travelled to Adamawa State and stayed for two weeks.
NEPWHAN stressed the need for the government and stakeholders to regulate and check the circulation of alternative HIV treatment in Gombe.
According to him, 300,000 of the state’s general population and 186,000 pregnant women have been tested within the last 11 months.
According to Mr Dahiru, the state government has enrolled at least 100,000 vulnerable persons in the scheme.
“In the light of the above, I hereby declare the outbreak of monkeypox in Gombe state,” Gombe health commissioner said.
NDLEA’s state coordinator, Ekaete Egwunwoke, said operatives of the agency apprehended the suspects in the past year in various raids across the state.
The health commissioner said despite the number, the state was still lagging behind in the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine.
One hundred bales of the nets were recovered from Kwami, while nine bales from Billiri. Each bale contains 50 nets.
