The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, had announced April 2022 as the effective date for the take-off of the national carrier.

Emirates Airlines have resumed flight operations to Nigeria following the settlement of dispute with the federal government.
Air Nigeria will be run by a company in which the Nigerian government holds a five per cent stake, aviation minister Hadi Sirika announced.
Mr Sirika…said ‘’imposition of vaccine passports is specifically against the African continent.’’
Mr Sirika said the sector was in a recovery mode, therefore, not the time for threats of industrial actions.
