Sri Lanka has recorded 27,754 dengue cases and 14 deaths so far this year, with infections reported from all 25 districts, health officials said on Wednesday.
The NCDC said cases fell from 11 in week 29 to three in week 30, recorded in Edo and Ondo states.
Despite intensified efforts, the NCDC said that several persistent challenges remained.
Mr Idris outlined key preventive measures to curb the spread of the disease.

Most cases of viral meningitis occur in children under age five, while bacterial meningitis is common in individuals under age 20.
He said that the NCDC would continue to monitor the situation globally, especially in countries where the new variants had been confirmed.
The medical professional advised Nigerians to get vaccinated against meningitis and stay up-to-date with booster doses.
