A yam and rice farmer, Joseph Ugwuoke, decried the development.
Mr Idris said the distribution would commence immediately.
The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Muttaka Namadi, commended the federal government for the gesture.
He said the gesture was aimed at providing affordable inputs to farmers through transparent processes.
The inputs were distributed through commodity associations, cooperative groups, farmers with special needs, and internally displaced persons.
The federal government, through the agriculture ministry, distributed the inputs to the small-scale farmers in Enugu on Thursday.
Some agriculture experts have called for increased advocacy against farmers’ misuse of agrochemicals.
