“The federal government must reverse its decision on electricity tariff increment. We don’t want it at this time,” said TUC.
The defendants are charged with conspiracy and stealing, but they pleaded not guilty.
“We are appealing to the public to stay clear of every electrical pole, wire and other installation until we are able to clear everything off the road,” IBEDC said.
The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) disconnected the power supply to UCH due to alleged accumulated debt.
“The IBEDC should see UCH as a sacred place because we render services to save lives,” said the hospital’s CMAC.
Ms Tunwase said that IBEDC had been confronted with the escalating cases of vandalism.
IBEDC had disconnected the power supply to UCH over what it called technical faults and indebtedness.
IBEDC has appealed to its numerous customers in Sango Ota in Ogun over the prevailing power outage in the community.
According to him, it also aims at addressing complaints from electricity consumers.
The IBEDC managing director said the company budgeted N18 billion for infrastructure and network expansion.
