A company spokesperson said the activities of vandals were crippling power distribution to the company’s customers.
The medical director of the hospital said that a group had approached the facility with the intent to help it in any area of challenge.
A statement issued by IBEDC’s spokesperson on Sunday said that Ogun, Oyo, Ibadan, Osun and Kwara States would be affected by the power outage.
“The general public is hereby assured of restoration of electricity supply as soon as possible while the two parties shall continue amicable resolution of the issues…”
“So, now we are saying that if they pay their electricity bill, we will pay the tax also,” an IBEDC official said.
The takeover includes the assets, shares and interests in related companies and entities, in addition to the monies kept in banks.
“Experience has taught us that it is not the best to repair but replace with a new one which is in the region of N90 million. IBDEC cannot afford it.”
Out of the N91 billion intended investment, the sum of N18.2 billion would be invested on network expansion alone in 2021.
The defendants assaulted the complainant, Ayorinde Olajide, stabbing him in his left eye with a broken bottle.
The traditional ruler has emphasised that the protests would continue if the government fails to listen to the people.
