Mr Abiodun said the state’s economy had grown significantly since he assumed office, driven by industrial expansion.
The governor said that the sports festival was organised to bring Nigerians together in unity.
The state government said it considered the U.S. a progressive partner in the areas of economy, good governance, security, climate change and human capital development.
He has alleged that Mr Abiodun did not win the majority of votes cast during the March 18 governorship election.
