In a statement on Monday, the airline disclosed that the operations shutdown will be effective from Wednesday July 20, 2022.
Financial experts say the increasing inflation rate in Nigeria has impacted the living standard of Nigerians.
The Institute said this is the highest annual rise since May 1998, when the figure stood at 18.8 per cent.
“Importers are not getting dollars to import this diesel at the official rate of CBN. So everybody is going to black market to get dollars to import their diesel.”
Nigeria’s inflation rate rose to 15.92 per cent in March.
The drop follows a decrease of 24,000 barrels per day compared to the 1.378 million barrels per day produced on average in February 2022.
The minister said it was mischief to compare pre-2015 prices of foodstuffs, petrol, diesel to today’s price.
He said the fuel crisis was capable of creating an artificial shock that would shake the economy.
