Ms Nwagene died on January 31, after suffering severe complications from a snakebite.
Mr Ugwuanyi also urged government to strengthen its collaboration with private hospitals to reduce medical tourism.
The cause of his death was not immediately known, but he was said to have been placed on oxygen in the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU) on Friday night.
The coroner said that the failure of appropriate response – substandard care and inadequate optimal care contributed to her untimely demise.
At least 7,875 Nigerian doctors are currently practising in the UK, with the figure expected to rise.
