According to Mr Akpan, this is the 11th time that Nigeria is elected for quality representation of the African Region at the ILO.
The report says this is the first increase in two decades and warns that nine million additional children were at risk as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
ILO says the economic crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic will cause global unemployment of over 200 million people by 2022.
“No job is worth the risk of stroke or heart disease. Governments, employers and workers need to work together to agree on limits to protect the health of workers.”
