Mr Argungu was buried on Sunday in his hometown of Argungu, Kebbi State.
Charred remains of at least 47 people so far confirmed killed were seen by The Gazette, with 27 bodies promptly buried to conform with Islamic rites.
“The deceased has been buried according to Islamic rites at the Grand mosque at Masjid Haram Shira yard in Mecca,” said Mr Abba-Danbatta.
“He was an operational icon; intellectual to the core; a cerebral officer. Even in death, he remains my mentor and benefactor,” said Mr Arase.
Until his death, he was the longest-serving emir in Zamfara having spent 61 years on the throne.
Mr. Martins-Kuye’s concervative politics loomed over Ogun State and northern political caucuses for nearly four decades.
