Drake missed out on a $920,000 payout after Nigerian-born Israel Adesanya lost his UFC middleweight title to Sean Strickland.
With 49-46, 49-46 & 49-46 score, Strickland edged Adesanya out by unanimous decision, ending the Last Stylebender’s reign as UFC champion.
Last month, Zuckerberg and South African-born billionaire Musk agreed to cage a fight.
Adesanya was backed into the cage by Alex Pereira in round two before unleashing two crushing right hands and a left hook to send his longtime rival down to the canvas.
Adesanya came out for revenge against Pereira who gave him a TKO in the final round last November, stripping him of his middleweight belt.
The UFC star was taken into custody by the police and airport security shortly after arriving at John F. Kennedy Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
The Last Stylebender dominated the three rounds out of the previous four rounds, before blowing it away with just two minutes remaining.
The Nigerian was declared winner by all three judges based on huge margins from four and five rounds.
Ms Dabiri-Erewa said Adesanya’s performance was a true reflection of the resilience, passion, and commitment of Nigerians both at home and in diaspora.
Saturday’s win was Adesanya’s fourth title defence since defending against Yoel Romero, Paolo Costa and Marvin Vettori.
