The police spokesperson said the operation was in conjunction with other security agencies.
“Sadly, this is the third attack on our LGA office in less than three weeks following similar attacks on our offices in Ogun and Osun on November 10,” Mr Okoye said.
“Ebubeagu never attacked him. Where was he attacked? Is it at the checkpoint? On the road or where? Ebubeagu did not record any attack on any vehicle.”
“We are working hard to find the causes of the matter, and we’re working with security agencies, including the police and DSS, to investigate the matter.”
The police in Ebonyi intercepted a two-man armed robbery gang around the state’s boundary on Tuesday.
The suspect denied vandalising any cable, insisting that he was a driver “contracted by some people to convey some materials and I did not know they were vandalised cables.”
Gunmen attacked the people of Ohaogelode community in Izzi LGA on April 10, killed several persons and burnt houses.
The first Ebubeagu personnel was killed on March 23, also in his house in Ezza North LGA of the state.
