Mr Oluyede expressed appreciation to officers and soldiers who remained at their duty posts while many Nigerians celebrated with their families.
Items recovered during the operation include two civilian vehicles, 31 spare tyres, 23 spare rims, two bicycles, 12 ignition key starters, three alternators, etc.
The CNS stressed the navy’s strategic importance in safeguarding the country’s oil resources.
Mr Zubairu added that the troops deployed in the Tsaure community came in contact with the bandits, leading to an exchange of fire.
He said that the rescued victims had been handed over to their families.
“I will not negotiate or pay ransom to bandits. The moment we start paying, they will open shop on our heads and keep kidnapping people,” the Niger governor said.
He commended the Brigade for the level of success recorded in the state.
The source added that troops apprehended three terrorist logistics suppliers in Magumeri and Nganzai local governments in Borno, and captured items from the suspects.
Mr Adesina said that the law would enhance the security architecture of the division as well as back its operations.
Security sources told Peoples Gazette some of those involved in the bloodshed had been previously rehabilitated in a programme introduced by former Governor Bello Matawalle.
