The Joint Task Force, Operation Whirl Stroke, has promised to restore peace in all troubled communities in Benue.

The command spokesman, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, said the measure was to ensure maintenance of law and order.
He said, “The troops, after engaging the elements in a serious gun duel, effectively neutralised two of the violent extremists.’’
He said the girl was rescued on June 23 with two children by troops during an operation within Sambisa forest.
The commander, Rear Adm. John Okeke, said the task force also intercepted 14 boats loaded with crude oil in Obuzor, Okoloma and Komkom River in Abia.

“There is tremendous improvement in security and we will not rest on our oars until peace totally returns,” said the JTF commander.
Mr Shuaibu said there was a need to do more to prevent the terrorist IED from hindering troops’ movement.
The commander advised criminals operating in the area to go into legitimate businesses.
