“The 2024 gubernatorial elections in Edo is going to be a turning point in the history of Edo state,” said Mr Abure.
The confusion happened in the presence of Mr Obi, his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, Labour Party chairman Julius Abure and other loyalists.
The judge imposed a perpetual injunction against Lamidi Apapa and any other residents or faction, from removing or suspending Mr Abure as the national chairman.
Friday’s ruling puts a hold on the parade by Acting National Chairman, Lamidi Apapa, who has been struggling to assert his authority on the party since Mr Abure’s travail.
“Are they not the supporters of Obi that he brought to the court that they should beat me up?” he said.
Mr Apapa said that justice had taken its natural course, saying that the judge acted in line with true justice.
She said that the Lagos state chapter of the Labour Party duly recognises, supports and remains loyal to Mr Julius Abure-led NEC as the authentic party’s national organ.
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) says it will resist any attempt to hijack or sabotage the Labour Party.
“I think the Obidient movement are on my side. Let me tell you this when you say Obidient side (movement), are they not Nigerians? We are all Nigerians.”
The state party chiefs stormed the Abuja national headquarters of the party to forestall its takeover by thugs loyal to a faction of the party.
