Mr Hamzat advised motorists to drive responsibly and arrive alive.
The Sector Commander, Lagos, Corps Commander, Kehinde Hamzat, said this in a statement on Tuesday.
Mr Hamzat said the contributions of special marshals to the successes of the FRSC could not be overstated.
Mr Hamzat said, “Road safety is not the sole duty of the federal system or law enforcement entity; it is a shared responsibility.”
The officer added that joint rescue operations were carried out by FRSC, the Nigeria Police, and the Lagos State Fire Service.
“FRSC personnel will be visible and proactive, and the success of the operations depends on the cooperation of all road users,” he said.
The Federal Road Safety Corps has confirmed that a multiple-vehicle crash has claimed the life of one person and injured two others in Lagos.
The FRSC commander said such an approach would involve effective law enforcement, education and community engagement.
Mr Hamzat said the vehicles whose number plates were seized would be impounded and their owners prosecuted appropriately in court.
The sector commander urged relevant stakeholders to work with the corps to reverse road carnage.
