Mr Umahi said the estimated cost per kilometre included contingency and variation of price (VOP), which may not even be used.

Mr Umahi, who gave the directive during an inspection of the project and some bridges in Lagos, said all construction levels must be carefully documented.
The ministry said the highway reflected a commitment to long-term resilience and efficiency.
Mr Umahi stated, “We are going to surpass the 20km from this site.’’
The 700km Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project is designed to connect Lagos to Cross River.
