The Nigerian Air Force says its airstrikes killed scores of terrorists at Metele in the Northern Tumbuns area of the Lake Chad Basin.
According to him, many of the assets remain functional.

The governor also called for the creation of a North-West Theatre Command, bringing the Nigerian Army’s 1st and 8th Divisions under a unified command structure.
Mr Tinubu insisted that a comprehensive reform of the global governance system is long overdue.
According to him, Tumbus, Mandara hills and Sambisa are terrorists’ strongholds.
They warned that terrorist groups were expanding their reach across Africa despite the years of military pressure.
Both leaders later held closed-door talks on improving cross-border security and stabilising communities affected by insurgency.
