The Malala Fund says it is investing $1.7 million as new funding for nine Nigerian organisations leading efforts to get more girls into school.
Malala and her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, co-founder of the Malala fund, arrived in Nigeria on Friday to meet with its board of directors.
The Malala Fund has pledged $50 million globally to tackle barriers hindering girls’ access to education.
Mr Kukah said that memorials were only for those who make impacts.
He said that the forum also deliberated on urgent proactive measures to save lives, livelihood, critical infrastructure and safeguarding national food security.
Ms Yousafzai is a Pakistani activist for girls’ education and became the world’s youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate at age 17.
