Mrs Adeseye stated that the victims had been taken to the hospital for treatment.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the recruitment of 150 firefighters to the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service to boost emergency response.
“The tanker lost control while in motion, skidded off the bridge way and was left hanging precariously on the bridge rail,” said the fire service.
Firefighting crews were arrived at the scene within five minutes, at approximately 5:55 p.m.
A Lexus RX300 SUV, with registration number GGE 750BM, lost control while speeding and rammed into five little children.
She added that all remaining gas cylinders were safely removed from the scene.
Ms Adeseye said that the incident occurred at 6:38 p. m on Friday at 291, Old Abeokuta Motor Road.
“Many are not aware of the danger of fire, that is why they play with objects that could trigger explosion.”
Mrs Adeseye said that the emergency team that swiftly responded to the incident contained the blaze.
The Ikeja station of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service put out a fire at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital on Thursday.
