The union stated this via its X handle after meeting with the delegation of federal government over minimum wage.
“Nobody knows when it will end; nobody wants to be caught without petrol at a time like this,” he said.
As Government, we are desirous of a peaceful outcome, and we will do everything to make this happen.
Checks at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) revealed that the strike disrupted clinical services.
“It is now N615,000. Regarding when the new minimum wage, the committee is still working,” said the TUC president.
“Some years ago, our minimum wage was 30,000, and a bag of rice goes for less than 6,000. Today, a bag of rice is between N70,000 to N100,000,” a protester said.
The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has called for a 300 per cent increment in the minimum wage for workers.
“Twenty doctors resigned from DASH and seven from the Hospital Management Board in the last three weeks.”
“Those groups are going to benefit immediately from the removal of the fuel subsidy,” he said.
Mr Tinubu’s government has been given less than 25 days to increase the N30,000 minimum wage to N200,000. The government is also expected to grant workers a tax holiday.
