The minister said when fully established, the centre would cater for aviation firefighting trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles.
Not just the planes, the wet-lease arrangement being adopted also covers flight crew and sometimes fuel.
Mr Sirika said the sector was in a recovery mode, therefore, not the time for threats of industrial actions.
“Your airline kept me and other passengers waiting at the airport, without any apology and/or explanations, for almost five (5) hours.
“The suspension did not economically make sense for the government to spend so much money.”
