The federal government has directed petroleum marketers to immediately reflect the recent decline in global oil prices by reducing the pump prices of petroleum products.
The affected assets are located across high-value areas in Abuja.
The minister said the decision was to increase the availability of cooking gas in the domestic market.
Mr Ndiomu reminded the minister that oil theft had drastically reduced in the Niger Delta since he assumed office.
“The APC government has promised Nigerians that they are going to create an opportunity for industry to thrive in the country.”
Mr Haruna Gololo asked the EFCC to go after the former aviation minister the same way the anti-graft body goes after “Yahoo Boys” for alleged scam.
Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, said the government was addressing all hiccups affecting fuel scarcity.
Mr Sylva made the allegation when he briefed State House correspondents on the outcome of the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday in Abuja.
Nigeria’s oil reserves currently sits at 37 billion barrels.
The minister said crude oil theft had impacted negatively on Nigeria’s foreign exchange inflow.
