He disclosed that the project duration was 36 months.
The minister said that the repair would begin immediately.
Mr Christl said, “Three spans of the existing Iddo Bridge are heavily damaged and need to be replaced.”
Mr Umahi said: “Nobody will be spared. Discipline is our watchword. Diligence is our watchword.”
He noted that unauthorised closures worsen traffic congestion and public hardship.
The minister apologised to all road users on the Abuja-Lokoja expressway to bear with the ministry.
Mr Umahi stated, “I have removed shrines in many places. If the people do not remove this one, I will come and remove it myself.”
The minister said a team of engineers had been dispatched to assess and begin repairs on the bridge.
According to Mr Umahi, it is difficult to moderate the situation of vehicles overloading and overboarding commuters.
