The Media Rights Agenda on Tuesday commended the National Broadcasting Commission for issuing timely guidance to broadcasters ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
According to MRA, Mr Onifade was shot while covering the #EndSARS protests in October 2020.
The group said by strengthening the right to freedom of expression, the government could ensure a future where all other human rights are adequately protected and respected in Nigeria.
Rights bodies and everyday Nigerians have been showing concerns and solidarity with The Gazette over the incident, which was instigated by erstwhile chief of army staff Tukur Buratai.
