The building, located on no 45, Ladipo Oluwo Street, collapsed after being struck by lightning due to heavy rains.
The special adviser to the governor on E-GIS and Planning Matters urged property owners to respect the RoW of public facilities to avoid the demolition of their structures.
Some buildings in Magodo GRA were caving in and risked collapse.
Mr Salako said a preliminary report of the collapse suggested that a section of the building disintegrated due to excess weight.
The developer was said not to have gotten a planning permit and authorisation from the Lagos State Building Control Agency.
“It is hoped that his prosecution would send a strong warning to all recalcitrant developers that it is mandatory to build right and engage professionals…”
The state says obtaining planning information is a prerequisite to determine whether to go ahead with a physical development plan in relation to a given site.
