The court fixed Friday, August 23, for the final judgement of the November 11, 2023, governorship poll conducted in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi.
In a ruling, Justice Lawal reserved judgment to a date that will be communicated to the parties.
The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal upheld the election of Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress as the governor of Kogi.
“The president believes that with the right priorities in place and seriously pursued developmental projects, spartan discipline, Nigeria can be great again,” said Mr Ajaka.
Mr Morka commended the judiciary for its professionalism and commitment toward strengthening the country’s democracy.
INEC, Mr Ododo, and his party, APC, had prayed that the tribunal dismiss Mr Ajaka and SDP’s petition for being incompetent and lacking merit.
Kogi held its governorship election on November 11, 2023, in which Mr Ododo of APC emerged as the winner, beating Mr Ajaka of the SDP by a wide margin.
While adopting his final written address dated and filed on May 1, Mr Daudu, who appeared for Mr Ododo, urged the tribunal to dismiss the entire petition.
The petitioners are challenging Mr Ododo’s victory in the November 11, 2023, governorship election in Kogi.
SDP and its governorship candidate in the poll are challenging the declaration of Mr Ododo of APC as the winner of the poll.
