NPHCDA says Nigeria’s intensified immunisation drive has resulted in the administration of over 174 million vaccine doses within one year.
The ₦2.36 trillion marked a significant rise from previous years, with 30 per cent of the annual budgets for PHC.
“The next phase is to double down on what is working, scale up interventions, strengthen accountability, and accelerate results,” the official said.
“We have seen the damage polio can do to children. With government support and community trust, we can finish this fight,” Ms Kabiru said.
Nigeria requires $1 billion over the next five years to sustain immunisation gains.
He said routine immunisation was critical in the fight against diseases such as polio, measles, diphtheria, hepatitis B, and tuberculosis.
The executive director of NPHCDA, Muyi Aina, said this in an interview on Friday in Abuja.
He said that the agency was focusing on revitalising PHC facilities.
Muyi Aina, the executive director of NPHCDA, acknowledged the vaccine donation by the American government on Tuesday in Abuja.
