The Zamfara House of Assembly on Thursday approved the appointment of Shehu Sa’idu as the head of legislative services of the assembly’s commission.
Mr Nasiru Magarya of the APC scored 9,531 votes to lose the seat to Isma’ila Bilyaminu of the PDP, who scored 11,231 votes.
The lawmakers said they would work to “justify our primary responsibilities of law-making, representation and oversights.”
House speaker Nasiru Magarya described the Children’s Parliament as an indicator of the bright future of children in the state.
“Nigeria is presently in need of patriotic leaders who are ready to work toward rebuilding the nation,” the lawmaker said.
The Assembly speaker said he expected that passage of the bill would contribute to peace and stability in the state.
Speaking with journalists on Wednesday, Mr Magarya noted that the assembly had recorded “tremendous” achievements in the past years.

Mr Magarya disclosed this to a delegation of conference of speakers who paid him a condolence over his father’s death in bandits’ camp.
The Zamfara Police Command confirmed the development on Thursday.
