The chief of naval staff, Idi Abbas, has underscored the critical role of manpower development in ensuring safe navigation and driving Nigeria’s blue economy.
The naval chief noted the confidence reposed in the military by civilians.
He also said that the country was hopeful of producing 1.9 million barrels of crude oil per day before the end of the year.
The impounded vessels were anchored at the Naval facility Forward Operating Base (FOB) Formoso in Brass, Bayelsa.
The graduates comprise 17 Naval officers, two Air Force officers, two Army officers and one Cameroonian Navy officer.
He said piracy on Nigeria’s waters had been dealt with following the navy’s hard work and the will of the maritime stakeholders and political class.
The Nigerian Navy made a series of arrests and seizures of ships and crew members across the nation’s maritime domain involved in illegal activities.
The navy also impounded two boats used in providing illegal escort services to oil thieves within the Bonny maritime area.
The Nigerian Navy has released the posting of 54 rear admirals following the recent promotion of senior officers in the service.
