The police command in Kogi has rescued one victim and arrested seven suspects in connection with a kidnapping on the Ayere-Kabba Road.
A statement by the command’s spokesperson, Saliu Afusat, on Friday, said that the operation was a resolve to deny criminal elements any safe haven in Kogi.
She said the suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further investigation.
He charged officers to conduct themselves professionally and to remain courteous, firm but civil.
The police commissioner, Naziru Kankarofi, gave the assurance on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the NECO coordinator in Kogi, Thaddeus Ajabu.
“The command has taken security matters very seriously and has put measures in place to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state,” the police commissioner said.
Mr Ododo said, “As citizens you shouldn’t allow yourselves to be used by selfish and destructive politicians who think only of themselves.
“We will continue to strengthen the collaboration between the state government and the police command to ensure peace, security, and community development,” Mr Ododo said.
