Mr Babafemi said the suspect was stopped at the departure hall of the Lagos airport on November 11 when NDLEA operatives arrested him after recovering the opioids
The NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, said in a statement on Sunday that the seizures were made from three containers on the agency’s watchlist.
“The following day, Friday, August 30, another set of three containers watch-listed by NDLEA were subjected to joint examination,” Mr Babafemi said.
NDLEA has intercepted multiple consignments of illicit drugs concealed in tins of Cerelac baby food and clothes going to the U.S. and UK.
The agency spokesperson said the counterfeit cash was owned by three suspects.
NDLEA says it arrested 319 suspects and seized 4.7 tonnes of illicit drugs between January and March 2024 in Kano.
NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi said operatives arrested eight suspects and seized 11 vehicles from the suspected drug barons.
Mr Babafemi said NDLEA operatives in Adamawa on Wednesday, March 13, arrested two wanted suspects.
Mr Babafemi said the raid was conducted by the NDLEA and the Abia Homeland Security men on the property at 23 Arochukwu Street, Umuahia.
Mr Marwa said the drug merchants were hellbent on destroying lives of innocent citizens especially youths.
