Mr Nwonke said the convicts told him that as soon as the NDLEA officers sight them, they (the convicts) will put up a smiling face as a code to the officers on duty.
A statement on Sunday by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi stated that the drugs were concealed in factory-sealed coffee packs.
The NDLEA spokesman said a female suspect was arrested on Friday, January 23, in Mokwa, Niger State, in a follow-up operation by operatives.
Mr Marwa stated that the NDLEA also secured 14, 225 convictions.
Similarly, two suspects were arrested by NDLEA operatives along the Onitsha -Asaba expressway in Delta, while conveying 410,800 pills of tramadol.
He reiterated the command’s efforts in trade facilitation and in enhancing port logistics.
He reaffirmed the service’s commitment to the rehabilitation and reformation of inmates.
Mr Danmalam commended the chairman of the agency, Buba Marwa, for motivating the officers in recording the successes.
Mr Babafemi said that the drugs, concealed in factory sealed sachets of cold-water starch, heading to the United Kingdom.
