Mr Tinubu stressed the need for the commission to change its approach to transform the region.
No fewer than 3,500 persons will benefit from a free five-day medical mission in the Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River.
He said the shelter was designed to serve as a refuge during flood emergencies.
He stated that the beneficiaries received treatment for various illnesses and conditions and that many underwent free surgeries.
The NDDC has appealed to International Oil Companies (IOCs) to pay the $700 million they owe the commission.
The area suffered an outbreak of cholera in March due to the scarcity of potable water.
The APC boss, while reacting to the peace deal in an interview in Port Harcourt on Sunday, said the delay in implementing the agreement was not good for political peace in Rivers.
Mr Okocha said that each truck contained 47 different items, which were meant to cushion the effects of the flood on the victims.
“We will give them our support while praying that they discharge their duties for the benefit of the region,” he said.
“‘Aketi’, as he was fondly called, is a man of simplistic nature,” said the NDDC governing board chair.
