“The council asked us to pay N1.2 million each for a shop so that it can be raised to a storey building, and later, they reduced it to N800,000.”
He said that members of the committee were from the side of the outgoing government and the governor-elect.
According to the government, at least 100 people are awaiting trial.
“We also recovered over 100 motorcycles and cows in the last three days in Rafi, Wushishi and Mashegu.”
The Niger commissioner added, ”I can assure you that efforts are on to flush out these bandits and criminal elements out of the state…”
The government was also said to have spent N605 million on internally displaced persons in the state.
