Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases has continued to decline as the country emerges from the surge caused by the Omicron variant.
Fifty-nine deaths have been recorded from week one to week six 2022 while the case fatality rate (CFR) stands at 16.5 per cent in the country.
Again, Lagos state took the lead with 16 new infections, followed by the Federal Capital Territory with 11 cases.
Fourteen states have recorded at least one confirmed case in 2022, affecting the age-group of 21-30 years.
“The sanitation desks are being replicated in all the 774 LGAs in the country.”
The latest figure include backlogs of discharged and confirmed cases from Anambra and Kaduna.
NCDC says those who tested positive raised the tally of the country’s infection to 242,877.
NCDC stated on Tuesday that Monday’s figures raised the country’s infection tally to 238,420 and the death toll to 3,024.
Mr Shehu says he has “symptoms of the disease – a trait connected with the omicron variant, adding that he has gone into isolation.”
Lagos State maintained its lead on Nigeria’s COVID-19 table with 833 cases, down from 845 cases it recorded on Thursday.
