President Bola Tinubu has hailed Nigeria’s 91.45 per cent aviation safety rating by the International Civil Aviation Organisation, describing it as impressive.
The score is Nigeria’s highest ever since the audit programme began in 1999.
Mr Sarina said the price of Jet A1 had increased to N3,300 per litre from about N900 per litre.
He said the new measures reflected the government’s commitment to strengthening aviation security.
The NCAA’s directorates of Aviation Security; Operations, Licensing, and Training Standards; Legal; and Consumer Protection were collaborating to ensure a proper conclusion of the probe.
The D-G urged stakeholders to reaffirm their commitment to aviation security and the safety of the people.
She advised passengers to familiarise themselves with passengers’ rights and responsibilities.
The NCAA spokesperson said a probe was ongoing to answer other questions surrounding the incident.
“The chairman and managing director of the airline would not have reached out personally to appeal, tender apologies…,” KWAM 1 claimed.
Mr Kana said, “For us in Nigeria and the Ministry of Aviation, our dream is to see that Lagos becomes a hub and, in no distant future.’’
