The visit featured high-level discussions focused on intelligence sharing, joint operations and improved inter-agency cooperation.
“Troops sprang the ambush and neutralised two of the armed bandits, while others fled the scene,” the army said.
Bandits invaded the community in the early hours of Tuesday and abducted three residents.
“The troops neutralised thousands of bandits, destroyed camps and motorcycles. They also disrupted their supply routes, forcing many of them to flee,” Mr Mohammed said.
The report indicated that about 12 terrorists were reportedly killed in the encounter.
Eight of the abducted passengers were candidates preparing for UTME.
The suspects were arrested in the early hours of April 16, 2026, following credible intelligence.

According to the army, troops of the 33 Artillery Brigade, in conjunction with a team from the Office of the National Security Adviser, conducted the clearance operation.
It said the troops targeted enclaves of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network.
