The Nigerian Independent System Operator says it is working to accelerate the implementation of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition to enhance grid monitoring.

According to NISO, investigations into the cause and sequence of events leading to the system disturbance are currently ongoing.
In a statement on Tuesday night, NISO’s management said the explosion caused a significant drop in electricity generation.
NISO, however, did not specify which gas network was vandalised.
