Mr Ephraim was kidnapped from her residence on July 13 by armed men disguised as patients.
The Niger NMA chairman said NARD in Niger had since joined their colleagues in the nationwide strike.
Ms Ephraim was kidnapped at about 7:30 p.m. last Thursday from her residence by armed men who pretended to be patients.
The NMA chairman in Cross River, Felix Archibong, said the kidnapped doctor worked with the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH).
The NMA chairman said the decision to suspend the strike was to ameliorate the plight of the masses in Nasarawa State.
In his reaction, the NMA chairman said that the workload on medical doctors working with the state government was massive due to lack of qualified hands.
It also appealed to the governor to support three of its members who are critically sick and currently taking treatment in various locations.
“Twenty doctors resigned from DASH and seven from the Hospital Management Board in the last three weeks.”
“By and large, the outgoing administration has tried its best. There have been some challenges even before the administration came on board.
“This is with a view to suspending the strike,’’ he stated.
