Nigerians have criticised the Senate for suspending Mrs Akpoti-Uduaghan without looking into the substance of her petition.
The Senate has called for improved budgetary allocations to universities in the 2025 budget to check brain drain and other challenges in the universities
Mr Bamidele explained that the bill aims to help the government meet its immediate and future financial obligations.
“The present-day but sad reality is that the judiciary has stagnated on the same salary scale for over 16 years.”
Also, Lateef Abiodun, a criminologist, said the Senate should extend the death penalty to corruption cases by public officers.
The Nigerian Senate has adjourned plenary until May 7 to allow for further refurbishment of its chamber.
“President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr Abdullahi Usman Bello as the chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).”
Mr Lawan commended Mr Akpabio’s tireless efforts in championing legislative initiatives.
He said this would help contribute to a more accountable and transparent government, ultimately benefiting the people of Nigeria.
He said the PIA had yet to make clear implementation plans for situations such as the now emerging trend of exit of the IOCs.
